Press Release Body: Aon has appointed Peter Dobbs as UK chairman of marine. Leading a team of 110 employees across the UK, Peter will be responsible for driving client service, strategic planning and developing new business from the global Aon network.
Peter was previously chief executive officer of Aon Professional Risks with expertise in kidnap & ransom, counter terrorism, political risks and product recall/malicious contamination insurance. He joined Aon in 1989 after three years as lead underwriter with AIG. Before his career in insurance, he worked at two international crisis management consultancies.
Philip Stamp, chairman of Aon Network Solutions, said: "Peter's appointment is a reflection of the great work he has been doing at Aon. In particular, he has championed the industry's move towards electronic trading to best meet the diverse needs of clients, which is an essential part of Marine's strategy. He is the natural choice for this role considering his impressive 18 year track record leading a number of business units to strong performance."
